FAQ:

1. What documents do I need to file a claim? 

a. A copy of any discharge other than a dishonorable one

b. A list you prepare of your current medical conditions and medications.

c. A list of where you served and what you were exposed to : burn pits, jet fuel, solvents, Agent Orange excessive noise, explosions, wounds and injuries. c. Medical records are helpful but not necessary- The VA must investigate your claim and look for medical records.


2. What are my fees?

a. I take 33% of any retroactive award. I do not take any part of your benefit going forward.


3. Expert Witness fees?

a. These fees are discussed in advance and incurred only if you agree to pay for them. Sometimes a low disability rating can only be raised through a private physician or mental health professional.


4. Are my VA records open to the public?

a. No. Even as your attorney, I cannot access your military or VA medical records. I can obtain copies of any VA decisions but not the underlying medical or mental health data. 


5. How long will it take to obtain a favorable decision? a. Unless you qualify for an expedited hearing, your first decision usually takes 9 months to a year. Unfavorable decisions are immediately appealed if we believe the claim is valid.


6. What do I need to qualify for an expedited hearing? a. Vets over 85, awarded the purple heart, homelessness or have a life-threatening health issue are given expedited treatment.
